Saskatchewan Science Centre
Saskatchewan's premier tourist and educational attraction, the
Saskatchewan Science Centre has a quarter of a million visitors
annually. The Science Centre is an interactive science museum and Imax
theatre. The two facilities of the centre, the Powerhouse of Discovery
and the Kramer IMAX Theatre, present exciting and fun ways for children
to interact with science. The Powerhouse of Discovery features hands-on
exhibits that explore basic scientific principles of physics, genetics,
biology, ecology, geology and space. The Discovery Lab houses an array
of reptilian and amphibian animals. Visitors can also enjoy live
demonstrations on static electricity, cryogenics, lasers, sound,
ecology and anatomy. The Kramer IMAX Theatre presents science and
nature films in the giant-screen format.
Royal Saskatchewan Musem
This museum focuses on the natural history of Saskatchewan. The museum
exhibits, geology, palaentology, and the present day biology of the
prairies. The First Nations Gallery, examines the history and present
day life of Saskatchewan's first people. Open: daily, 9am to 5:30pm
(May 1 to Labour Day) and 9am to 4:30 pm (Labour Day to April 30).
Closed Christmas Day.

Annual Art Show and Sale

The annual show and sale is a perennial favourite for art buyers and
collectors. The exhibition features a huge selection of original
artworks by more than 80 local artists. Every year we introduce new
artists to the public and show off the latest work by those we have
been following for years and years. The show is hung 'salon style' and
all of the art is for sale. The exhibition showcases the tremendous
talent we have right here in our own community. It's also a great
opportunity to purchase affordable Saskatchewan art that is not
available elsewhere in the city.
Regina Highland Games

The Regina Highland Games celebrate Scottish culture with pipe bands, a
Highland dancing competition, a Heavy Events competition which includes
tests of strength and vendor selling their food and wears. The event is
capped off with a ceilidh.
RCMP Sunset Retreat Ceremonies

In the 1700s, military drummers would roam the streets of town at
sunset beating a rhythm to let tavern owners know it was time to close
and send the military personnel back to their posts, at which point a
flag lowering ceremony would take place. Today, the RCMP Academy Depot
Division re-enacts this display for crowds at sunset over a three week
period.

SaskPower Regina Dragon Boat Festival

This community event held over Labour Day weekend, aims to bring
together and foster understanding between people of all cultures. 2006
marks the races 15th year and since its inception, the race has grown
to include over 70 teams watched by over 20,000 spectators.
